Autumn Family Photos | the Rearicks

At the beginning of November I was down in Arizona for 10 days of long hard work! I find it hard to refer to it as work sometimes because I love what I do so much, but at the end of my days when my body aches, my hand feels like falling off, and I have a headache pounding I remember it is, work! For the next couple of posts I am going to share some of my favorite Autumn Family Photo Sessions, everything from the locations, their attire, and the posing!

Starting off with the Rearick Family (you saw their anniversary photos and their maternity photos) and today here is their first full family photo session with their precious baby girl. When Brie asked me what to wear I told her neutrals! I almost ALWAYS suggest neurals because I love how it photographs against almost any background. It allows for the subjects to pop while drawing attention to the happiness and chemistry shown in each photo.

Camille + Harper | Vernon BC

My favorite part about living in the Okanagan is the amazing colors the summer brings. As I drive through towns down past the lakes the yellow + blue tones that mix as the straw grass meets the lake line is unbelievable. Honestly my favorite color combo for photographing my clients. Todays post is a mommy and me session I did right at the end of summer. These two beautiful bombshells were so much fun to hang out with on the mountain side here in Vernon. I can’t get enough of them, and I am sure you’ll feel the same. Take a look at Camille + Harper’s mommy and me session….

Did I not tell you? Amazing duo these two are, I can’t wait to see what life brings their way!

Larissa + Kevin | Talking Stick Resort Wedding

Oh, I am so late on getting this wedding blogged I cant believe it. It was my favorite Spring weddings I did in Arizona before leaving and it has taken me over 3 months to blog. In my defense, we moved countries and are currently building our home so life has been a little busy.

Larissa + Kevin, what a special couple they are to me. Larissa and I became great friends, I wrote about how we met in their engagement post last year. She is so talented and knowledgeable so for any photographer who has photographed another wedding photographers wedding you know how stressful it can be! None the less, the day went off with out any issues (or lets say major issues!) we did have the wind to take into consideration.  Having someone who loves photos be your bride was THE best! We took photos for what seemed like ever, running around all over in a golf cart to get a few different locations.

Their reception was so fun and unique with food trucks for dinner and a s’mores bar around the fire pit for desert. Lots of laughter, dancing, and photos were had by all!

Whimsical Maternity Session

This maternity session is a little extra special to me. Brie and I have been friends for 4 years now, we met through our personal style blogs one night at happy hour and instantly became best friends. Seriously, other than my mom Brie is the second person I text all day everyday. To the point if we don’t hear from each other in a few days we check in to make sure everything is okay! When Brie initially told me she was pregnant is was during her and Colton’s Anniversary/Holiday photo shoot (which you can see in this post I blogged!) I was so incredibly excited, to the point where I wasn’t sure if she was telling the truth or playing a joke on me! When we trying to pick a theme or location for her maternity photos we were texting back and forth. I had just scrolled by this dress on Instagram (the one she is wearing!) and thought, that dress would be perfect… but its not maternity :( literally 2 minutes later Brie had screen shoted the dress and said, ‘i think I’ll buy this dress and size up to fit the bump!’ We were on the same page. And I am so glad because take a look at this incredible maternity session…

Meriah, graduation photos

I haven’t done a lot of High School Graduation Photos in a while. Not because I don’t like them, its just that I have been so busy with wedding season these past few months that I hadn’t really though about digging into the market. When Meriah showed up at her session I had to do a double take… you are a high school senior? From where, Model’s only high school?! haha! But seriously, how times have changed! Meriah was so sweet to work with. We chatted a bit and I started to loosen her up as we went along. Towards the and I saw the wild horses in a distance, I looked at her said, let’s go darling… trust me, you will have THE BEST photos out of any o yours friends!
